Fast three-day snuff ratios

Making from scratchbase blendIntermediate

From volunge on the Snuffhouse forum, 2020

Starting ratios for a fast snuff that's enjoyable after about three days, worked out over many batches. Every figure is a share of the finished snuff's weight.

About three days. Moisture at the top of the range (25 to 35%) speeds it up.

Notes

More alkali gets the nicotine to you faster but gives a sharper burn, more drip and less of the tobacco's own aroma. Too much salt burns and drips as well. With less alkali or less moisture the snuff needs months of ageing. Use sodium carbonate rather than bicarbonate (baking soda), which is too weak on its own. To scent the finished snuff, thin 1 drop of essential oil in 1 ml of 95 to 96% food-grade ethanol for each 10 g, mix it in and let the ethanol air off. Wear gloves for the carbonate and keep it out of your eyes.
