Twice-brewed Scotch plain with bergamot

Making from scratchscentingIntermediate

From boiledonions on the Snuffhouse forum, 2020

Made from American Spirit rolling tobacco (the light blue pouch). It's brewed twice: the coarse part of the grind is boiled into a dark tea, and that tea moistens the fine part, which then brews again in a sealed jar. It makes about 10 g.

The brewed liquid is a strong tobacco tea, and nicotine passes through skin. Wear gloves while you strain it and work it in, and wash off any splashes straight away. Use bergapten-free (FCF) bergamot oil.

A week sealed, then a few days open.

Notes

You'll also need a small pan and a strainer for the tea. The source gives no amount of water, so add the liquid a little at a time until the flour is evenly moist. Bergamot is strong, so count the drops. Wear gloves when you handle sodium carbonate.
