Medium grind and moisture, sooooo easy to take.
Really nice menthol cooling sensation, apricot feels very light but noticeable.
Grabbed a 5g tap tin when they were on sale and I'm very glad I did
This was the highlight so far of a WOS sampler box I bought. Beautifully balanced with apricot and a mild menthol, couldn't keep by nose out of the tin and it was gone in less than a week. Could have had a bit more "punch", but if alteration sacrificed an iota of the scent of finished product than I say "don't change a thing".
I hate that I didn't get into snuff earlier in my life because of this snuff. Diplomat is great in every way. The texture is heavy and sits in the nose and doesn't run. The scent is mature and comforting, and the burn is perfect. I haven't found another to equal this experience, though the Bernards are more intricate and make me very happy every time, this one I find that I actually crave. I accidently got the large tin, and I'm glad I did! I will buy this in bulk.
Wilsons’ Diplomat is constituted from the same base elements as “Gawith Original” by Pöschl or Gawith & Hoggarth’s “CM”, but offers a subtler snuff experience. Where Diplomat differentiates itself from these other products is through dosage. The menthol and camphor, while present, do not steal the limelight from the apricot, allowing for a mild and flavourful burn that lingers nicely. With medium nicotine, medium moisture and a medium grind there is nothing about it to offend the uptake. Diplomat is neither overwhelming through its camphor and menthol, nor underwhelming by being fad; one is simply pleased…or whelmed…by its warm embrace.
I’m not typically a fan of the heavily mentholated snuffs, like McChrystals or anything like that, but maybe it’s the name “Diplomat”, but I just feel like George Shultz with this one about to go in with a top Soviet apparatchik and negotiate for a world nuclear de-escalation deal. Get a 5 gram tin of Diplomat and see if you like it.
