A cold Coca-Cola on a hot summer day, that is what this snuff brings to the table. This snuff provides an ample dose of Vitamin N, that is just strong enough to enjoy during a late-night writing session, or as a nice treat throughout the day without an aggressive burn.
Silver by Gawith is presented in a lovely silver tap box. This snuff out of the tapper greets the nose with a strong cola note that is sweet, but not overly so. Tapping the snuff into the hand, you can see a somewhat fluffy ground leaf that is easy to pinch; medium-coarse, this snuff leans more towards the medium, but with its milling and fluffy nature as a byproduct, the "fluffy" aspect is well pronounced. Tobacco colour is medium brown, with tiny tan particles. Once in the nose, the cola note is met with a smooth menthol, which cools the nose, and the cola notes really carry through the entire experience, with the menthol right nearby. At the tale's end, a hair of tobacco peeks through, but can be easily missed. The moisture content in tap tins can be hard to judge but overall this snuff was slightly more moist over a traditional English Snuff, but not nearly as moist as Gletch. This snuff is sweet, but not so sweet to be reserved for the dessert snuff category. Friendly, this snuff combines a user-friendly grind, ample moisture, and menthol to help alleviate any irritation, all of which come together with an easy-to-use Vitamin N to make this an approachable snuff. Watch that wind though!
This snuff can be had all day, as a treat, or as a way to end the day. This snuff will find a place in my daily rotation. If you are looking for a moderately mentholated cola-based snuff, Gawith Silver is worth a try.
