Fribourg & Treyer - Santo Domingo

I ordered the ol' Mr. Snuff Beginners sampler set starting with the tap box mentolated to make sure the nic hit wasn't gonna rock my socks. Then decided to see what a darker, coarser variety would do. As a traditional pipe smoker of over twenty years (cigars just never scratched the right itch), F&T's Santa Domingo is like being at home but without all the accoutrement and ceremony required for a right proper bowl.

The antique scents, the lingering deep smokiness that reminds me of my a perique-laden blend... And then BOOM! the perfect amount of nicotine straight to the dome. Incredible!

This is my first F&T and I must say that I'm extremely impressed. I'm a fan of tobacco-forward snuffs and the Santo Domingo certainly doesn't disappoint. The grain is dark and a bit coarser than what I've been used to in the past, but the aroma is rich and complex. Extremely earthy and slightly smoky, but there's also a slight aroma of aged cheese at the end that I find very appealing.
