Bernard - Postillion
Bernard - Postillion
Bernard Postillion is a rich, complex Schmalzler with layers of chocolate, molasses, fig, date, and apricot, supported by a smoky, spicy, and earthy tobacco base. The grind is medium-course and slightly moist, making it easy to take. The nicotine is moderate to high, and the snuff is praised for its smooth, indulgent flavor and long-lasting aroma.
The blend is well-balanced, with sweetness and dark fruit notes that evolve as the snuff sits in the nose.

Bernard - Postillion
Fairly new to the schmalzler game. I love the old recipe, chocolaty, nutty with a light fruit and nut finish. The new recipe is pleasant! Much more fruit in the front, tropical maybe? Coconut and mango? Jackfruit comes to mind like juicy fruit gum with a lighter chocolaty finish.
I'm hard pressed to decide which is better but I can say the new blend is a gem.
I confess to being relatively new to schmalzlers and the very wide range of Bernard's snuffs. I started with Brasil & Fichtennadel a few years ago and have been meaning to explore a wider sampler. Postillion was one of these and it is terrific. The description of chocolate and spice etc is very apt while definitely not being a chocolate snuff. I find I have to try a snuff many times to decide how I feel about it and this one has come to the front as a spectacular blend. Honestly I have yet to try a Bernard snuff that I didn't like. The fact that they are closing production is sad and will be a big loss to the snuff community. But that's a year off so still time to try, decide and stock up...which I certainly will. This Postillion is a must have.
does anyone know the name of the painting
Like the original , it's sold out for a reason ! First time could not close the box. The original had a sour I couldn't put down , had to get more .
Someone said reviews black licorice ( hated as a kid) with chocolate . But Bernard's got a recipe that keeps you coming back .
