McChrystal's Aztec has a medium-fine grind with moderate moisture content. The blend is chocolate-forward, with cocoa as the primary note and secondary notes of vanilla, coffee, and cinnamon. The colour is medium to dark brown.

The chocolate aroma is strong and the tobacco base remains understated. Nicotine strength is low to medium. The grind and moisture level make this snuff suitable for beginners.

There's no menthol to hide the minor burn of the Vitamin N. It's a little boost of energy found in an easy-to-take snuff. It's easy to use all day long without a headache, and it's very smooth. The moisture content is just a tad bit more moist than the average McChrystal snuff; sufficient moisture controls the snuff in the hand. There is minor clumping in the tin.

This medium-fine grind, coupled with moderate moisture and minor fluffiness, makes this an easy-to-use snuff. Consider using a gentler sniff, as a nose accustomed to cooling menthol may find it a tad harsh. It stays in the nose and is not hard to sniff. This snuff can be used by nearly anyone, but there is no cooling agent to mask the nicotine burn. Some may find this a bit irritating; therefore, I am placing this into the Intermediate category. The burn is light, the scent profile rich and decadent, which may overpower some palates.

The name "Aztec" reflects its heritage; a traditional Aztec chocolate blend includes chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and other indigenous spices from Mexico and its southern neighbours. This snuff pays tribute to the Aztecs with a prominent chocolate flavour that resembles a mocha mix. The coffee notes are very mild and serve as a subtle complement to the chocolate. There is a slight sweet undertone, although I don't detect the vanilla. Somewhere in the background, there is a spice at play, or rather, the echo of a spice that dances in the shadows. The snuff has a mild burn and minimal drip. Its slight fluffiness, along with the medium-fine grind, makes it easy to pinch. As a non-mentholated snuff, it is an excellent addition to any collection.
